Maurice van Lieshout

Maurice van Lieshout (Den Haag) studied recorder and piano in Tilburg, Den Haag and Milan. In 1995 he formed the ensemble for late Medieval music Fala Música, he held concerts at renowned festivals such as Musica Antiqua Brugge, Laus Polyfoniae (Antwerpen), Musée de Cluny (Paris) etc. He as well works freelance in several genres, and in New Music: percussion with Eduardo Leandro, baroque music with Cantus Cölln, Capella di San Pietro Utrecht. Maurice van Lieshout is teaching Early Music and historical improvisation at the Music Academy in Frankfurt and Leipzig. He teaches and coordinates the masterprogram "Early Modal Music" at Schola Cantorum Brabantie at Fontys Conservatorium Tilburg (Netherlands). He held several courses, among others at the Music Academy Bremen, Berlin, Münster and Lemmens Institute Leuven. He wrote articles about Early Music, e.g. Michaelsteiner Konferenzberichte.
