Nick Parle
Nicholas Parle was born in Sydney and upon completing a Bachelor of Music degree at the University of Sydney he moved to London in 1985. In 1989 he won the First Prize in the International Harpsichord Competition in Bruges, Belgium - only the third time in the thirty year history of the competition that a first prize had been awarded. Since then he has appeared as both a soloist and continuo player throughout Europe, Japan and Australia and has worked regularly with many of the leading baroque orchestras and chamber groups in England.
Nicholas now finds himself devoting more time to teaching. In addition to giving courses regularly in Poland, Hungary and Japan, since 1998 he has been teaching at the Guildhall School of Music, London, and since 2004 is Professor of Harpsichord at the Hochschule für Musik und Theater "Felix Mendelsohn Bartholdy" in Leipzig.
