Andreas Helm received a formation in recorder, oboe and instrumental pedagogy at the Bruckner Conservatory in Linz with Carin van Heerden. After his graduation in 1999 he went to Amsterdam, where he took up three years of studies with Alfredo Bernardini, where he received his concert diploma.
He played oboe and recorder with the L≠Orfeo Baroque Orchestra, Vienna Academy of Music, the Freiburg Baroque Orchestra, Concerto Cologne, the Irish Baroque Orchestra and Les talens lyrique, He is also a member of the recorder trio tricorders, of Rossi Piceno Baroque Ensembles and of ensembles Schikaneders Jugend (Schikaneder≠s Youth). For the seasons 2001 and 2002/03 he has been invited as first oboist and recorder soloist to the European Union Baroque Orchestra. As a chamber musician and soloist he was awarded with several prizes, like Gradus ad Parnassum, Premio Bonporti. He toured to concerts in many European countries, and he went to China, Japan, Mexico, Singapore and South Africa. Andreas Helm teaches baroque oboe and chamber music at the Aestas Musica Summer School of Baroque Music in Varazdin, Croatia.
