About the Austria Barock Akademie

Music in the strains of time and historical performance experience -

This is what the Austria Barock Akademie imparts to students of any age from all over the world. Founded in 2001 the Austria Barock Akademie offers masterclasses in for singing and vocal education, instrumental music and ensambletraining and baroque dance.

The composition of our instructor team is as international as our students are. Our popular summer courses take place in a castle in the Austrian Salzkammergut (close to Salzburg) on the lake Traunsee (Gmunden, Altmünster).
We also offer masterclasses in Moscow, Warsaw, Belgrade and Lisbon.

Each year musically follows a certain motto or is dedicated to a specific baroque composer. In 2013 it was "Love and War in music", 2014 it was "Female Composers", 2015 it was "The Music in the Churches and Palazzis in the 17th century Rome" and for 2016 it is "Creation of Music at the Dresden Court".

Besides individual instruction we encourage our students to gain experience in ensembles. To accomplish this the Austria Barock Akademie provides support in foundation of ensembles, program development and concert agency.
There are awards granted which imply invitations to concerts for the prize winners and the recordings of their concerts. All prize winners are guided and procured for 5 years by the ABA.
Also every year a traversflute made by the master craftman Tutz is awarded.
For youngsters there is the yearly award "young baroque talent".

ABA Concerts are performed in Vienna, Schwetzingen, Warsaw, Bergerac, Gmunden, Altmünster, Kirchstetten, Stockholm, Bodrum and other cities.
Our prize winners are sent on tour with various programs and their career gets supported.

The joy of music is what is given prominence to especially in the popular summer master classes held by a team of international high-profile instructors. It is our passion to pass on the musical creations of the baroque times on a raised standard and to create curiosity.
